Year 11 Learning Café
9th January 2024Our first Learning Café launch took place on Monday 8th January at 3.20 – 4.20pm for Year 11 students; sessions will continue each day of the week after college. Today’s session focused on two specific revision strategies; effectively using mind maps, and how to incorporate the use of self-explanation to check understanding of the work. This helps students to retain information, thus preparing them for their upcoming PPE 2s on 31st January, and their summer exams.
Students were issued with a Learning Café Loyalty Card. Each session a student attends, they will receive a loyalty stamp. 5 stamps = a raffle ticket. A weekly raffle draw will take place weekly during the Year 11 assembly. We have amazing prizes which have been donated by the community to encourage students to attend.
It was brilliant to see so many students attend today’s Learning Café launch – well done! Miss Ray.
